Boise State Broncos 2008

Talk about another amazing football season. They won all twelve of their games and proudly wear the title of UNDEFEATED! :D Sadly, my favorite player (Ian Johnson, number 41) is graduating, so this was his last season. SNIFF

GO BRONCOS!!

Football, New House, Acting Update, Fav. Song

The crowd sits restless in their metal sits trying to hear above the roaring of the stadium. The announcer's voice soars above the excitement. And now please welcome, THE BOISE STATE BRONCOS!! The emotion I feel when I see those players running out through the smoke, is almost indescribable. Their passion is unbelievable, all their hard work about to get tested with on the spot decisions. I'm not a sport player at all, but watching this team play football is very special to me.

Tonight my team plays their season opener against Idaho State, GO BRONCOS!!
About three weeks ago, my family moved into our new house. After living for a year in our apartment it's nice to be able to move around a little bit more. We have so many boxes though, it's insane. I've lived without a lot of this stuff for two years (storage) so I've decided to get rid of tons, but definitely not any of my books. It's been a very exciting adventure! :)

Acting Update!! So, I auditioned for my school's play, The Secret Garden and got the part of Nurse Grey. I'm really happy that I got in because the audition and cut process was pretty scary at times. Nurse Grey will be fun to play because she has some attitude and a mind of her own!
Also, I just got informed that I get to perform a couple of songs from Schoolhouse Rock with some of my cast members for a program that our city is having. The part I'm pretty pumped about is that we get to do it at this amazing Amphitheater....

And, finally my favorite songs of the week.

Bowl Game Time!

EAST CAROLINA vs. BOISE STATE BRONCOS
Hawaii Bowl
December 23, 2007
Score: East Carolina 41
Broncos 38

We were able to watch the game at a friend’s house. They had this HUGE theater room set up with a big screen, comfortable chairs, and really cool sound system. The game started. Unfortunately, the Broncos started weak and they didn’t appear very motivated. Their opponents WERE motivated and took advantage of our temporary weakness.

I have to say that it was hard to watch my team get slaughtered. At one point right before half time we were down 23 points. Then our awesome coach decided to call a no huddle. This usually is only called in the last seconds of the game to complete a last effort drive to try and score. Our game was only in the 2nd quarter. Coach Pete needed to do something and that something worked. We scored and from that moment on the game changed. We squashed everything they had and started coming back. Ok, so then (with just minutes left) we were in position to tie up the game, when one of our freshman receivers fumbled the ball. His second time that night. He single handily had ruined the game. I felt so so bad for this guy. It was 2 days till Christmas.....what a burden for him. So anyways I felt absolutely horrible for him and I didn't want the game to end like this. Then out of nowhere Marty Tadman (the biggest Christian in Idaho) jumped up and intercepted the ball and ran it back in one of the most amazing moments of the game and made a touchdown. He then proceeded to go directly to the miserable freshman. It was all good now. Nothing had been lost. We were tied and that was all that mattered.

Sadly, East Carolina kicked a field goal and won the game. I really would have preferred to have us win, but God is in ultimate control and I think it's almost a win-win situation. All the bronco fans were happy that we came back as much as we did and I think that the East Carolina coach knew that if we had gone into overtime with them, the better team would have won. (But of course that is just my personal opinion)

*lifts cup* TO A GREAT BRONCO SEASON!

I would also like to make special note of Georgia whooping Hawaii in their bowl game. That was very well done! (Wouldn’t you say Hannah?)

Last Games

Boise State vs. Hawaii

*sniffles* Well, the Broncos played Friday night from 9(pm) to 1(am). Yes, I stayed up for the WHOLE thing. My dad and I were able to go down to the exercise room since it was a nationally televised game. It was very fun watching the game, but the sad thing was, they lost. 39-27. I have to admit that the Warriors were a very good team. I think that if some of our best players hadn't been injured the score might be different, but one can only guess. I was very sad afterwards. It's not often that the Broncos lose. Then it hit me. Wow, I am really blessed. Lots of people have teams that they are dedicated too that are just....well...bad. It's amazing how many games the Broncos have won. In the last 8 years we have won 96 games and lost 18. This is the most wins in college football ever. So with that said, even though I am still sad, it's Hawaii's chance to shine right now and I wish them the best of luck. But, we'll see you next year Warriors and you better watch your back!

After this game Dad and I were talking about Boise’s bowl chances. He realized that they would probably be playing in the Humanitarian bowl. This is actually the bowl game hosted in Boise. *smiles* So, now the question was who was going to be their opponent.

Me: So, who is Boise going to play on the blue?
Dad: Whoever wins the North Carolina State verses Maryland game tomorrow.
*dramatic pause*
Me: WAIT!! Isn't that the game I'm going to tomorrow?

Yes indeedy, I actually got invited to the game that would decide Boise’s opponent. How crazy is that?

North Carolina State vs. Maryland

My friend’s family is big NC State fans and they have season tickets and tailgating passes and entrance into special cool big places. She invited me to go and as you may have guessed I was thrilled. My first football game in NC. We tailgated (which is a hoot, cause you eat and talk about the game and eat more) for about 2 hours, then went to our really comfortable chairs and watched the game. Don't get me wrong, I totally respect NC State and everything but their football team is horrible. In the entire game they rushed for 10 YARDS!! *that's not good* Since I haven't been in North Carolina for very long I haven't decided what teams I will root for. So, I didn't have any kind of attachment to NC State. With that said, I really enjoyed the game even though they got creamed 37-0. Maryland was a good team and I watched them and analyzed them. They will be fun to watch when Boise plays them. GO BOISE!

Love you all!

GOOD BYE VANDALS!!!

*smiles* Yesterday afternoon around 2:00 p.m. a great game started. The Boise State Broncos vs. The Idaho Vandals. This is both teams' biggest rivalry.

The University of Idaho is very corrupt. In the past year about 16 players have either been arrested, expelled or suspended. I'm not saying Boise State is perfect, but they at least have their head on straight.

Anyways, Boise hosted the game and what a game it was. My dad and I had to listen to it on the radio, but it was better then nothing. It got a little scary in the first half as the Broncos were struggling to get plays down, but after halftime, boy what a game. The final score was 58-14.
Near the end the Vandal players started playing nasty and revealed their true rotten innards.
After the game, not surprisingly, lots of police had to come in and settle some people down and even make some arrests.

Praise the Lord! Go Broncos!

Big Update

Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry I haven't been on my blog for awhile. The past couple of months have been very interesting. I needed some time to sit down with myself and think over what has happened. We moved across the country. I started private school. How different it has been compared to homeschooling. Friends. Houses. Money. Family. Acting. Blogging. Writing. God.

When I was homeschooled, I had all the time in the world. Now, frankly, I don't. But, I am working on time management. With God's help in the next couple of weeks I would love to be able to continue blogging, reading for Cybils, not feel stressed at school, give my all at drama, have time for family and time for myself. Everything will work out...

Thank you for being patient and I will try my hardest to continue posting at a regular basis.
Here are some recommendations:
Must Read: Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale (oh my gosh, talk about dream role)
Must Watch: Radio, Rudy, and We are Marshall (do you see the theme?)

Also, I would like to inform you all that tomorrow at 3:00, Boise State will play their archrivals the Idaho Vandals. The Broncos are going to win so there, but if they don't, don't plan on seeing me for the next.....10 years.

Update on Drama: Emma has been going really well. We just finished learning the dances for the ball scene and that was a blast! I love dancing and I can't wait to dance in my beautiful long blue dress. I haven't been able to take pictures because I'm on stage so much (doesn't that sound cool?), but I think I'm going to ask my mom or sisters to come to some practices and take pics.

Oh, you HAVE to watch this video I found. It's absolutely breathtaking. The Circle of Life from The Lion King performed at the Tony Awards. *sighs deeply* Just wonderful!

What a game...

Ian Johnson about to get a touchdown - Joe Jaszewki / The Idaho Statesman

*breathes a sigh of relief* Last night was a VERY stressful night. The Broncos played Nevada at home. This wasn't suppose to be a close game (I thought the Broncos were going to smash them). It ended up being a fight to the end of the game, literally.

The game started out with the Broncos dominating, but by halftime, it was apparent that the teams were going to have to work a lot harder to hold on to the game. Back and forth they went, Nevada scoring, then the Broncos answering. As the game clock ticked the last seconds down, the Broncos kicked a field goal, tying the game. It was overtime. 44-44.

I don't like overtimes because they make me very nervous. I wasn't going to stop watching though. Nevada scored a touchdown on their first play, then the Broncos did the same. This was repeated with the second overtime. In third overtime, both teams were forced to kick a field goal. Now it was fourth overtime. Very few teams get this far. The rule in this overtime is that if you get a touchdown you have to go for the two-point conversion. This is pretty hard and many teams can't do it. So, we got the ball first. We scored. Now for the two points. I was so anxious because they HAD to make this and THEY DID!!!!!

So now it's Nevada's ball. It took them a bit longer to score but they ended up getting a touchdown. *doesn't breath* Time for the two-point conversion. *still isn't breathing* They hike the ball and............BAM, the guy with the ball is down and WE WONNNNNNNN!!!! *breathes and breathes and breathes and screams and jumps off the couch and back onto it and then screams again*

Final Score 69-67

Dedicated Fan

Joe Jaszewski / The Idaho Statesman

My Broncos played two days ago (Thursday night) and they smashed their opponents (Southern Mississippi) 38-16. Dad and I were able to watch the game, but that was easier said then done.

It was an early game in Idaho so it started about 7:30ish here. We started out at a sports bar with a huge TV, but really no sound since there was loud music playing. Through out the night it got really smoky (cigarettes from people around us) but we were watching our Broncos and there was no way we were going to leave.

But, then about 9:30, karaoke started. Yes, it did. The first two people were actually pretty good, but then the third person started and wow...his talent was NOT singing. The smoke got so bad I was having a hard time breathing and so we left.

We raced home, got some blankets, chairs, and I got my inhaler and Dad and I went down to our apartment’s exercise room. It was the only other place that had a TV. So, we sat there in the freezing cold (yes, they keep it very very cold), filling our lungs with clean air and screaming for our team, the Broncos.

It was a wonderful game and we were up till about 11:30 on a school night, but it was all worth it.

*sighs*

Bronco Update #1

Well, the Broncos have played two games so far and are 1-1. That means, they have won 1 time and lost 1 time. Their first game was so amazing! They completed crushed their opponent Weber State; 56-7. It was so fun to listen to!

Two days ago, we went to a sports bar to watch them play the Huskies. It was an interesting game! The Broncos played well, but the Huskies were just a little too much for them at this point in the season. (We will crush them next time we play...) The score was 28-10, so it wasn't horrible.

I am very excited for next week, because usually after a team loses, they come back very strong, because they have addressed and worked on their problems and are ready for another go at it. :D
The video below is a very quick segment (34 seconds) of a couple of touchdown plays against Weber State. I found one that was short, so that you didn't have any excuse for NOT watching it...:)

Football Season

As most of you know I am an avid fan of Boise State Football. :D

As most of you don't know, their first game is in 5 DAYS! *screams with joy*

You can be assured that I will keep you all updated on how they do......

I can just see everyone of you bubbling over with joy. ;)

I will try hard to make it interesting for those of you who are football challenged.

Here is a picture of my favorite player scoring the winning two point conversion at the Fiesta Bowl.

Go Orange! Go Big Blue! Fight, Fight, BSU!!
