Painter's Chair Fine Art Gallery

Yesterday, Miss Erin and I visited an art gallery. I usually think looking at art is extremely boring, but this time it was amazing... The artists that stood out the most to us were Manaz, Rob Gonsalves, and Gonzalez. Below are some of my favorite works from the three. To see more go to the gallery's main website here.

Written World by Rob Gonsalves

Open Door by Manaz

A Delightful Evening by Gonzalez

P.S. I am changing my blog URL to www.somethingkind.blogspot.com in the next couple of days...

Book Reviews, Updates, and Happiness

Hi Hi!! Lots has happened this summer! ;) School finished well and I am now free to breath! Also our house in Idaho SOLD!!!!! Thank the Lord for that. We started looking for a house here but we really couldn't find anything. My parents wanted a house that literally backed up to the school and that was pretty much impossible because it's a very popular area. But one day my mom was driving in that neighborhood for the millionth time and there was a beautiful house with a for sale sign in front of it. We made an offer that night and it was ours the next day. The Lord works in mysterious ways. To see more pictures go HERE.
So, since all that happened we are going back to Idaho (YES!) tomorrow for three weeks to visit extremely missed friends and pack up our house. I'm sure we all will have a blast there and then when I get back I get to go to a two week drama camp!!
Hope all is well with everyone....enjoy my books reviews below..

Bringing the Boy Home by N.A. Nelson

Tirio knows that his adopted life in the United States is better, granted that he was cast out of his families’ Takunami tribe at an early age because of a disabled foot. But, that doesn’t stop him from wondering what his life would be like if his father had accepted him and loved him as he was and not shunned him for what he wasn’t.
Luka’s goal in life is to conquer his soche seche tente, a sixth sense test that he does with his never met father. If he succeeds his family will be honored, weddings will happen, and families will be reunited, but if he fails, his tribe will never respect their family again.
These two boys who live in completely different worlds intertwine in and out of each other’s lives in a very exciting and surprising adventure.

Troll Blood by Katherine Langrish

Peer and Hilde find themselves on a ship heading for Vinland. They both want some adventure but when they find out the captain’s real intentions for the trip, they wonder if they will ever get home. In Katherine Langrish’s final novel of her Troll Trilogy all her characters,Viking and Native American history, and legends come alive. Reading the first two books of this trilogy is highly recommended.

lovely quotes

Maman rolled her eyes. “She’s never at home these days. Rehearsals, costume fittings, special lessons – she is always going somewhere.”
“You don’t mind?” asked Dr. Leclerc.
“Of course not,” I said. “I love singing. I love performing. I don’t mind traveling at all.”

I let Emmett do the talking as I slip through the stack to breathe in the books. I do so love the smell of fresh ink and clean, white pages with fine printed words. I run fingers over the binding. Oh, I wish I could check out a hundred books for me….
-Gentle's Holler by Kerry Madden

And where better could she learn the trade than in a house full of magical creatures, where fairies built their nests in the garden and books whispered on the shelves by night? As Mo had said: writing stories is a kind of magic, too.

Free Verse Poem

Hello my friend, and welcome to your home,
feel free to explore your new grounds,
I promise there will be no disappointment.

My friends are many, with their sizes and colors,
all are unique, not one being the same,
except for the long lost twins
who arrived on different days

Here is Miss Cabot in her pink, sleek dress,
her life tells of sadness, hard troubles, and drugs.
There is Mr. Wilson in his fancy black converses,
his young boy has adventures down rivers and caves.
Oh and last but not least Miss Toby Cai,
her story is told but not yet revealed.

For hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years
your kind has always been special.
So I will strive to treat you the way you deserve, the way you ought to be

How I love to stroke and to smell you,
all those pages and pages of endless bliss.
History, love, action, and drama,
wonderful rich flavor, rising from your surface.
Always there sitting.
Always their waiting.

Welcome to your home, my friends,
sometimes I might lend you away,
to a loving and caring reader,
but you will always come back to me.

sneak peak....

I'm not sure when I will have time to post something about my performances of Twelfth Night last weekend, and so I'm giving you some pictures to hold you all for a while. These are not ordinary pictures, though. One of me as a girl (sticking out my tongue..) and the other two as guys...
