ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER

It is Mr. Webber's 60th birthday today!

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is arguably the most successful composer of our time. He is best known for stage and film adaptations of his musicals Jesus Christ Superstar(1973), Cats (1994), Evita (1996), and The Phantom of the Opera (2004).

Now, the reason I am noting this on my blog, is not because I like the guy. I like his music. I personally think he's kind of creepyish and I have slight problems with some of the music he has written. But, regardless, he is an amazing composer and has written some of my favorite songs.

I do have some issues with this song (Jesus Christ Superstar), but my favorite person on Grease: You're the One that I Want sung it, and I thought she did a really good job!

2. The Golden Globe Awards were announced yesterday. Last year I had watched a lot of the nominee's but this year, I think I saw one. (heh) Anyways, there were two awards I was really excited about. One of my really good friends saw this movie and absolutely LOVED it. The funny thing is, it is NOT my type of movie. So, when I saw the winners of these awards I thought of her. Go Sweeney Todd!

3. I would LOVE to tell you all something and I'm just going to come out and just say it. I GOT THE LEAD ROLE IN A PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!! *ahem* This morning at exactly 7: 47ish I found out that I recieved Viola in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. :) *smiles*

Emma

First off, I'm sorry it has been so long since I posted. We are still having trouble recieving internet....

Second, I auditioned for my highschool play "Emma" last week and got the role of 'Harriet'!
Below are some quotes from the book that describe her character.

Miss Harriet Smith:

"Miss Smith was a girl of seventeen, whom Emma knew very well by sight, and had long felt an interest in, on account of her beauty."

Much Ado About Nothing

Last night, Miss Erin and I went to an outdoor production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ by William Shakespeare. It was absolutely spectacular.

The set was magnificent! It was set to a Mexican theme; there was a huge archway in the middle of the stage, surrounded by layers and layers of beautiful colorful fabrics. These materials were multi-purpose. Some created exits and entrances, some made great hiding places for Beatrice and Benedick (if you are familiar with the play) and some were just there to create the stage.

Once the play started I felt like I was right there with Claudio and Hero, Beatrice and Benedick, and mad as a hornet at Don John for hurting these wonderful people. This shows how amazing all the actors were!

After the play, we went up to some of the actors and actresses. They were really really surprisingly nice. We had seen the actress who played Beatrice in another shorter version of ‘Much Ado..' earlier this year, so we had a very nice talk with her and got her to sign our program. We also got some more people’s autographs. I’m still shocked on how talkative and nice they were.

This is probably one of the best plays I have ever been too. All those who live in my home town (you know who you are), go and see this!!!!

I have been waiting for this movie to come out for a LONG time, sadly I won't be able to see it today (see below), but I just had to mention it!

3. Opening Night for The Velveteen Rabbit!

We are very excited about tonight! Lots of hard work has gone into this production. We have three shows: two nights and a matinee.

Last weekend, my sisters (A, L, and K) took part in Missoula Children's Theatre production of Robin Hood. MCT comes down once every year and puts on a play in a week. I didn't participate this year, because I am already in a production..(more on that later)

Also, I was able to get my friend, Irishdancer to audition too. She signed on as the Skunk Wrangler. (kept the little kids in line)
